MICRO MODULAR REACTOR | A New Standard

USNC approached Deep Sky to produce a series of videos that promote and explain their state-of-the-art technology, which is setting the new standard for nuclear safety. The project consisted of one video demonstrating the Lifecycle—showcasing how nuclear energy is a safe, environmentally-responsible solution to the problems of climate change—and another video showing their Standard for Safety.

In ‘A New Standard’, we created an entire town large enough for a population of 5,000 people as a 3D environment in order to demonstrate the capability of the MMR reactor. Building a complete environment is always challenging, particularly when scientific accuracy and adaptability is so important, so that it can react naturally to a fluid simulation. We constructed the environment around the established camera movements, depending on whether the shot required a 3/4 angle, wide-angle zoom-out, or a close zoom-in for a fly-through shot.

The main goal of these videos was to be informative and scientifically-accurate. Using detailed environment modeling, complex VFX, and hyper-realistic simulations, we were able to convey USNC's priority of safety while highlighting their state-of-the-art technology.
