We teamed up with Turner's sports platform Bleacher Report to create fun social media shorts featuring the biggest stars from the NFL, NBA, and more. With 15.8 million followers on Instagram, B/R leads the conversation around some of the sports world's hottest topics.
For these 3D videos around the Atlanta Falcons' Julio Jones, the Carolina Panthers' Cam Newton, and the Cincinnati Bengals' Andy Dalton, we designed and modeled the characters to match their real-life looks. With some added effects like Julio's touchdown dance or Cam's superhero cape, these superstars were made to be larger-than-life.
We had a blast collaborating with Bleacher Report on another CGI animated short showing the slick moves of Atlanta Falcons star Julio Jones and hip hop group Migos. We celebrated Julio's first touchdown of the season with a 3D concert by Migos and a few extra dance moves from Julio himself. A fun concept, talented team, and great timing, B/R unleashed this 'Stirfry' on Instagram, generating over 1 million views in less than 24 hours. Lots of love in those comments, even from Julio, the Falcons wide receivers, and Quavo. After we made this video, Julio went on to tie his season record for TDs that year...just saying.
A fun animated short we produced for Bleacher Report. The art direction was aimed at a Playstation 3 style. It doesn’t take much to make Cam Newton look like a superhero on the field, but we thought we’d give him a little extra boost. After animating in Maya, our team put some extra loving care into the sim of his cape to make sure it reacted to Cam’s movements accurately. We used ZBrush to sculpt him and the defenders, Cinema 4D for VFX and rendering, and After Effects for compositing.
Using 3D character animation, we collaborated with Bleacher Report to create this social media short 'Andy Dalton On Fire'. This video features fire sims and high poly character models.
