Our longtime collaborator, AWS, approached Deep Sky to create a launch video for Amazon Honeycode, their new cloud-based software platform that allows users to build custom apps. They asked us to create a distinctive aesthetic for a product that didn't yet have a defined look or feel, while also making it a logical extension of the famous Amazon brand.
We worked simultaneously on creating a 2D explainer video and a 3D promo for the new platform. While the 2D video was more informational and demonstrated what issues this platform will solve for users, the 3D promo illustrated all of the salient features and intuitive functionality of the platform in a beautiful and realistic way. From sleek renders of the UI to smooth motion between all of the platform’s features, we stepped up our game to make the UI literally jump off the screen with striking motion design and reflective, glass-like textures.
While we progressed simultaneously on both Honeycode videos, we consulted closely with the Amazon product development teams to adjust the video’s UI interfaces. As design, logo, and even overall branding elements were confirmed, we managed to integrate them seamlessly into the videos. This is the first all-3D video we produced with Amazon, which made it a fun and rewarding experience for both of us.
The Honeycode project was another in a long line of successful collaborations with Amazon and its family of brands. We're already at work on the next one and we can't wait to share it with you!
